It looks like gelato and tastes like a treat, and it's basically just frozen fruit and protein powder doing something magic in a blender. Watch Doireann make it on our YouTube channel or give it a save on Instagram ready for sunny day cravings.
The trick is the volume. Blend it long enough and the whole thing whips up, lightens, and more than doubles, so a modest amount of fruit turns into a proper bowlful. Patience is the only real ingredient here, give it the full few minutes and scrape it down as you go.
One quick note: this only works with whey. Plant-based protein may not fluff up the same way, so save that one for your shakes.

295 calories | 30g protein | 5g fat | 36.2g carbs
Ingredients
- 150g frozen fruit
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 3 or 4 ice cubes
- 1.5 scoops vanilla whey protein (plant based won't work, unfortunately!)
Method
- Add all ingredients to a powerful blender or food processor.
- Blend for approx 5 minutes, scraping it down every now and then. Timing depends entirely on your blender, so don't panic if it takes a little longer.
- You'll know it's ready when everything has blended together smoothly and the mixture has more than doubled in volume.
Toppings
Pile on some extra berries, a drizzle of honey, or whatever your favourite toppings are. For a bit of crunch against all that softness, scatter over some oac collagen crumb, it's exactly what this needs. Want the visual? Check @oacsnacks on Instagram/Youtube for the video recipe.
